Robert Shapiro, Ph.D., Professor of Chemistry at New York University

Robert Shapiro is the author or co-author of over 120 publications, primarily in the area of DNA chemistry. He has written four books for the general public: Life Beyond Earth, with Gerald Feinberg, Origins: A Skeptic's Guide to the Creation of Life on Earth, The Human Blueprint and Planetary Dreams. His research has been supported by numerous grants from the National Institutes of Health, Department of Energy, National Science Foundation and other organizations. In 2004, Dr. Shapiro received the Trotter Prize, awarded for his contributions to the understanding of the the mechanisms and wonder of nature.
