, Ph.D., Director of Global and International Studies and Professor of
Sociology and Religious Studies at UCSB.

Dr Juergensmeyer wrote the wide-read, Terror in the Mind of God: The Global Rise of Religious Violence based on interviews with violent religious activists around the world. His other books include The New Cold War? Religious Nationalism Confronts the Secular State and Gandhi's Way.  He is the 2003 recipient of the prestigious Grawemeyer Award for contributions to the study of religion, and is the 2004 recipient of the Silver Award of the Queen Sofia Center for the Study of Violence in Spain. He received an Honorary Doctorate from Lehigh University in 2004. Since the events of September 11 he has been a frequent commentator in the news media, including CNN, NBC, CBS, BBC, NPR, Fox News, ABC's Politically Incorrect, and CNBC's Dennis Miller Show.

This is located where 154 runs into State street. (the old A+W for real oldtimers, the old Rainbow Grill for those with shorter memories). This is the authentic central Mexico cooking. Dishes such as "vuelve a la vida," pollo adobado, parrillada de mariscos. ( The usual typical dishes are also available.) Prices range from $5.00 to $12.00 with a large menu selection.

We are now accepting reservations for a maximum of 25 persons. The head count must be in by May 15th, no exceptions. We have the heated patio, or if weather bad, we can move inside. Easy and ample off street parking behind the restaurant.
