Dr. Ed Buckner, new President of American Atheists, will be speaking about many topics, such as: - the need for complete and absolute separation of church and state, regardless of one's religious faith or not; - developing a social philosophy in which humankind is central and must itself be the source of strength, progress, and ideals for the well-being and happiness of humanity; - promoting the study of the arts and sciences for solving problems, and for the enrichment of human (and other) life. His free talk will be at 6pm and all are welcome. Afterwards, stay for discussion, including wine and hearty appetizers for only $10. Ed. from Georgia State University in 1975; and his Ph. D. also at Georgia State University in 1983. From 1980 to 1982, he was Assistant Professor of Labor Studies at Georgia State University, then he continued as Assistant Professor of Urban Studies until 1986. He was Coordinator of Research and Development at Atlanta Technical Institute (now College).
