Diana Hull, Ph.D., President of Californians for Population Stabilization
Last year California’s population increased by 539,000 to over 36.5 million. The state’s annual population growth rate of 1.5 percent is now higher than that of Indonesia. At this rate, California’s population will double in just 47 years. Dr. Diana Hull will discuss the causes and consequences of this population explosion, and why achieving population stabilization and environmental sustainability “requires opposing both business interests on the right and ‘politically correct’ multiculturalists on the left.” A former member of the Sierra Club, Dr. Hull is a UCSB Foundation Board of Trustee (emeritus).
