The book:
Since the acclaimed lawyer, author, and columnist Wendy Kaminer will be speaking to the Society at our Sept. 23 monthly meeting, the Book Club has decided to co-ordinate our 9/20 program with her appearance. Last year we discussed her most well-known book, Sleeping with Extra-Terrestrials, This year we've each agreed to choose from one of her two most important other books: It's All the Rage (1995),a discussion of crimes and punishments, (e.g. the OJ Simpson circus) and Free for All (2002), an excellent collection of essays and writings about the post 9/11 attack on our civil liberties. .
Future plans: Our selection for October 18 is Salman Rushdie's The Satanic Verses.
